 James Jordan is a New Orleans vocalist whose wide-ranging sound blends R&B, funk, and swing into a rich, soulful experience. Known for his vocal versatility and intimate performance style, he brings a fresh voice to the city’s music scene. His debut album of original work, Reflections, is set for release this January with his band, James Jordan and The Situation. We're thrilled to have them here at the Ellis Marsalis Center for Music.

Lil’ Glenn and Backatown brings a high-energy mix of funk, jazz, rock, and blues straight from the heart of New Orleans. Led by trumpeter Glenn “Lil’ Glenn” Hall—best known for his work with the Rebirth Brass Band—the group has lit up stages from Jazz in the Park to the NBA All-Star Celebrity Game, and now, the Ellis Marsalis Center for Music.

On Tuesday, September 2 at 6:30pm, we’ll have our very own Ellen Smith on the Ellis Marsalis Center for Music stage! A native New Orleanian, “Big Fine Ellen” Smith has been singing around the City—and the world—since childhood. A vivacious and captivating entertainer, she will buoy your spirit, break your heart, and bring you to dance—sometimes in the spans of just three songs. We’re thrilled to have her enchanting voice and smile-inducing presence at the Ellis Marsalis Center for Music!

On Tuesday, August 5 at 6:30pm, we’ll have our very own Freddie Blue and his band on the Ellis Marsalis Center for Music stage! Freddie Blue and the Friendship Circle have spent over a decade crafting a genre-blending sound grounded in roots rock, JamAmericana, a bit of reggae, and the New Orleans spirit. Fusing original music with soulful takes on classic songwriters, their shows radiate warmth, rhythm, and a sense of shared celebration. We're so excited to have them at the Ellis Marsalis Center for Music!

On Tuesday, July 1 at 6:30pm, we’ll have Louis Ford at the Ellis Marsalis Center for Music! A proud tradition-bearer of New Orleans jazz, Louis Ford represents five generations of musical heritage. As a Legacy member of the Preservation Hall Jazz Band and a lifelong educator, he shares the city’s sound both at home and around the world—with soul, history, and heart. We're so excited to have them at the Ellis Marsalis Center for Music!

Join us for an unforgettable night of music with trumpeter Jamil Sharif! A New Orleans native, Jamil carries on a proud lineage of Crescent City musicians dating back to the 1800s. His powerful, versatile style draws from jazz, blues, funk, and beyond—rooted in heritage and delivered with heart. We are thrilled to have him perform at the Ellis Marsalis Center for Music.
