Koncertsalen Alsion is one of the best of its kind in Northern Europe. The acoustics are unsurpassed, and performers praise it as a particularly nice place to perform. The optimal size for a concert hall is a room that resembles a shoebox in terms of length, width and height. The length was given in advance. On one side is Alssund and on the other side is the railway. That is why the hall appears as it does - wrapped in two separate concrete boxes, one inside the other. The soundproof void in the hall's walls means that extraneous sounds from outside do not penetrate and ruin the concert experience.
