We have been searching for the right opportunity to perform Shostakovich's Eleventh Symphony for a long time, until conductor Case Scaglione came up with this desire. After two years, Hungarian virtuoso Gábor Boldoczki also returns to the Prague Symphony to reunite two old friends: Dmitri Shostakovich and Mieczyslaw Weinberg.

Wranitzky Kapelle is led by Czech conductor Marek Štilec. It is composed of top musicians with an interest in an informed interpretation of Viennese classicism. Štilec also collaborates with the boys' choir Boni Pueri, and so the idea of performing Mozart's Requiem in a boys' and men's ensemble, i.e. "in the original version", was born.

We welcome the ensemble Tenebrae in Prague for the first time. It's about time! Clouds of top-notch recordings, many nominations, even a Grammy. In our church they will take on their old masters: William Byrd or Thomas Tallis. They will lead us "de tenebris ad lucem", from darkness to light.

Leonard Slatkin is a musical legend: composer and winner of several Grammy Awards and chief conductor of many great orchestras. As a soloist, he requested Czech virtuoso Josef Špaček and Bohuslav Martinů's violin concerto. The Czech premiere of Slatkin's piece Schubertiade will also be performed.

Beethoven was a great inspiration to Schubert, and although both men were Viennese, they probably never met. We're in luck tonight: they'll both be with us. Beethoven's septet will put us in a good mood that will last until the end of the work. Even Schubert and his octet will not shake us out of this sweet balance.

Frenchman Olivier Latry is the titular organist of Notre Dame Cathedral in Paris, i.e. the organist of the Mother of God. On the organ he will play his own music, French music, by the greatest, who know how to play every pipe, every register in this monumental instrument.

The famous owner of the blue violin chose the subtitle "Old Style Concert" for his programme. He was inspired by the violinist Jan Kubelík and his famous recitals in Carnegie Hall at the beginning of the 20th century. Hence the emphasis on Paganini's highly virtuosic compositions.

"A passionate musician, whose touches have a certain muscularity and conscious work with weight, he plays with great colour, soulfulness, poetry and verve." (New York Classical Review) The repertoire of the Prague recital is also soulful: Liszt, Beethoven and Borys Lyatoshynskyi – a key figure in Ukrainian music.

The concert in the beautiful premises of the St. Agnes Convent will feature the young Czech singer Bella Adamova, who was also chosen by Tomáš Netopil as a young Czech hope for the March orchestral concert. She will be accompanied by Michael Gees in Schubert's song cycle.

For the first time the Prague Symphony welcomes the most important Slovenian conductor of today, Marko Letonja. The first half of the evening will be French in honour of his many years in Strasbourg, the second half will be Fate. One of the world's finest organists, Olivier Latry, will also perform with our orchestra for the first time.

Collegium Colloredo is dedicated to the musical legacy of the noble Colloredo family from the Moravian town of Kroměříž. The ensemble is led by none other than Tomáš Netopil, a patriot of Kroměříž and the new chief conductor of the Prague Symphony Orchestra, who cultivates the baroque violin in addition to the baton.

The new chief conductor Tomáš Netopil has always considered it important to pay great attention to young Czech artists. In March 2026 it will be mezzo-soprano Bella Adamova and Mahler's deeply human opus. As a counterbalance, Tomáš Netopil has chosen Josef Suk's Fairy Tale.

The renowned Czech ensemble Capella da Camera Praga will present the music of Johann Sebastian Bach and his sons in the Church of St. Simon and Jude, with whom we will move from the Baroque to the Classical period. The programme is thematically linked to the September concert Bach and Sons I.

The renowned ensemble La Grande Chapelle, named after an ancient musical epicentre in Burgundy, will perform in Prague for the first time. The Spanish artists and their artistic director, music connoisseur Albert Recasens, will bring "their" Renaissance grandmaster Tomás Luis de Victoria.

Jan Bartoš and Beethoven, that is the harmony of souls. One of the most outstanding Czech pianists has released several award-winning CDs, including Beethoven's sonatas. It is Beethoven who has been at the centre of the pianist's lifelong interest and who is considered the greatest revolutionary in the history of music.

Boris Giltburg is one of those few pianists who captivate listeners as soon as they touch the keys. He has beautifully relaxed, supple hands and the piano sounds unusually soft and singing under his fingers. His performance of the most famous concerto of all time, Tchaikovsky's Piano Concerto in B minor, is sure to be an equally powerful experience.

Violin virtuoso Jiří Vodička, Prague Spring Festival winner in cello Václav Petr and fantastic pianist Martin Kasík founded the chamber ensemble The Trio in 2020 and in the first year created a great audiovisual recording of Bohuslav Martinů's Bergerettes.

He made his Carnegie Hall debut at the age of 22. He is currently completing a recording of Beethoven's complete piano sonatas. Saleem is not only an extraordinary artist, but also a person who actively supports young musicians in conflict areas and developing countries.

Verdi's most monumental work, full not only of sadness but also of Italian drama, is one of the most demanding vocal-instrumental works, requiring truly top performers such as conductor Tomáš Brauner, soprano Krassimira Stoyanova, Ester Pavlů or Pavel Černoch.

The ensemble's founder, bassist Stephan MacLeod, grew up in Geneva and on the music of Bach and his cantatas. The ensemble will also focus on them in its Prague debut. And as is Stephan's good habit, he will bring to our church dream musicians: Leila Schayegh and Bertrand Cuiller.

Named after the 20th century Czech composer, the women's wind ensemble chose the name after winning the prestigious Viktor Kalabis Prize. When such an ensemble plays Kalabis' Divertimento, it is a historically informed interpretation. The central work in the Images and Music series, however, can be none other than Pictures at an Exhibition.

Who wouldn't want to dance the whole coming year away? For Antonín Dvořák, the Slavonic Dances marked a major turning point in his life: he was able to begin his life as a renowned composer. The optimism in his music will help us fulfil our resolution that in this New Year, we too can change our lives for the better.

Few orchestras can currently boast in their dramaturgy an opera premiere by the great Czech composer Bohuslav Martinů. The previously unplayed and unpublished version of the opera Mariken von Nimègue will be a gift for all of us lovers not only of his music. Chief conductor Tomáš Netopil will take over the performance.

Vyšehrad is a sacred place where our people go on festive occasions. For the first time, the Prague Symphony went here in June 2024 for its 90th birthday. For the second time, the FOK will fly here from the Municipal House on Dvořák's wings. With its chief conductor Tomáš Netopil, it will perform the New World.
