Travel through the trees and across the seas with Maestro Mouse and his musical friends. Young readers will meet a big blue whale and speedy cheetahs, tiny beetles and graceful swans, each with a special secret to share.

Along the way, you might spot the surprises Maestro Mouse has left for you, a hiding buzzy bee, jumbled letters that spell out clues, and even a coded message to solve.

Cayuse storyteller Jeanine Gordon will begin the concert by sharing her version of Coyote and the Stars and will narrate The Wild Symphony, connecting the music to storytelling rooted in our region.

Family Concert: Wild Symphony

The Hip-Hop Orchestra Experience (THHOE) doesn’t remix genres—it invents a new one. Equal parts symphony, dance party, and underground club night, THHOE fuses the structural rigor of classical with the raw energy of hip-hop, creating a new genre of live performance.

Led by composer/pianist JooWan Kim, the project features MCs, a lyric soprano, and a full orchestra of winds, brass, strings, piano, and drums. Every note is fully scored and original— weaving canons, fugues, and symphonic textures into rapid-fire rhymes, rap cyphers, and hip-hop dance circles that spill into the audience. The result feels like live film music or street opera: dramatic, immersive, and completely unexpected.

Pitchfork calls it “textures swimming through the sound…like the world’s fastest ping-pong game” and Huffington Post claims it as “the cutting edge of hip-hop.” THHOE has earned international attention from BBC, NPR, PBS, Wall Street Journal, ESPN, and more.

This is not hip-hop with strings. It’s not classical with beats. It’s the birth of a new sound.

Enjoy an immersive experience at the Symphony Soirée, a fundraising event to support the Walla Walla Symphony’s 2025–2026 season. Featuring Chocolats symphoniques performed by Symphony musicians and paired with local chocolates, the evening will include a silent auction and paddle raise.

Paving the Way

The Vienna Boys’ Choir returns to Walla Walla with Strauss For Ever, a program celebrating the music of the Strauss family. Known for waltzes and polkas, this music has long been part of the choir’s tradition and gives the singers a chance to show their energy, precision, and charm.

SymphoniCon will feature music from film, TV, and games, including heroic themes, villainous moments, and a tribute to Walla Walla’s own Adam West. Exact selections will be announced later.

Caroline Shaw’s Entr’acte was inspired by a Haydn string quartet. Shaw uses that older musical form as a starting point, then lets the music move in colorful and unexpected directions.

New Worlds

Seraph Brass brings an afternoon of music across styles and centuries, from opera and classical favorites to jazz, musical theater, and works by living composers. The program offers familiar melodies alongside pieces that may be new to you.
