Paraorchestra

Paraorchestra, established by British conductor Charles Hazlewood, is a unique musical ensemble renowned for being the world's first large-scale orchestra comprised primarily of professional disabled musicians. Founded in 2012, Paraorchestra aims to challenge the perceptions of disability in the arts and to create dynamic, high-quality performances that integrate orchestral music with other artistic disciplines. The orchestra gained international recognition during the Closing Ceremony of the 2012 London Paralympics. Dedicated to accessibility and inclusivity, Paraorchestra collaborates with a diverse array of artists and performs across a wide range of genres, from classical to contemporary music. By bringing together talented musicians of all abilities, Paraorchestra continues to push the boundaries of what orchestral music can be, inspiring audiences and sparking important conversations about diversity in the arts.
