'''About Arizona Theatre Company''' Arizona Theatre Company (ATC), recognized as the official State theatre of Arizona, has been a major force in the cultural scene since its inception in 1966. Celebrating over half a century of theatrical productions, ATC has firmly established itself as a cornerstone of the arts, bringing together audiences and artists to experience a wide array of stories that resonate with the human condition. From reimagined classics and contemporary plays to original works and innovative musicals, ATC's performances are designed to foster meaningful conversations that extend beyond the theatre walls. ATC is unique among the League of Resident Theatres (LORT) due to its operation across two major cities, Tucson and Phoenix, with plans to expand its presence to Tempe/Phoenix by October 2023. The company's leadership includes Executive Director Geri Wright and Kasser Family Artistic Director Matt August, who guide ATC with a vision to transform the lives of Arizonans through the power of theatre. Each season, ATC collaborates with world-class artists to produce a repertoire that addresses what it means to be alive today. Through mainstage productions, student matinees, community outreach, and digital offerings, ATC reaches an audience of over 130,000 patrons annually. The company's commitment to education and community engagement is evident in its nationally recognized ATCteen program and the National Latine Playwright Award, which emphasize the creative power of theatre and its ability to train and inspire artists, audiences, and community members alike. The mission of Arizona Theatre Company is to create world-class theatre that inspires curiosity and creativity, sparks empathy and joy, and brings all Arizonans together. With a vision focused on the transformative impact of theatre, ATC strives to make the art form accessible and relevant to people from all walks of life. As a nonprofit organization, ATC relies on the generosity of more than 2,500 donors to sustain its operations and outreach initiatives. This support allows the company to provide free tickets to 25,000 children from Title 1 schools each year, ensuring that the next generation has the opportunity to experience and learn from the magic of live theatre. The Board of Trustees serves as the governing body of ATC, holding the organization in trust for the community it serves. Alongside the board, a dedicated staff works tirelessly to ensure that the audience remains at the heart of all ATC's endeavors.
