Junge Theater Bonn

Junge Theater Bonn celebrated its 50th anniversary in 2019. Since 1969, we have been creating theatre for children and young people, for families, school classes, and kindergartens. A working method that is completely standard practice in theatres in England or the USA makes the Junges Theater Bonn an anomaly among German children's and youth theatres – and for over ten years, the most visited children's and youth theatre in all of Germany, with approximately 140,000 audience members per season. In JTB productions, the participating children and young people have the opportunity to actively and responsibly shape their performance, naturally within the framework of the play's and director's guidelines, just like the professional adult actors. Many JTB plays are also developed and written jointly with children and young people from the junior ensemble.
