Reverend and the Makers

Reverend and the Makers is an English rock band formed in Sheffield, known for their eclectic mix of indie rock, electronic, and dance music. The band was founded by Jon McClure, also known as 'The Reverend,' and gained significant attention in the mid-2000s. They emerged from the vibrant Sheffield music scene alongside contemporaries like Arctic Monkeys. Reverend and the Makers released their debut album, 'The State of Things,' in 2007, which included the hit single 'Heavyweight Champion of the World.' They have been praised for their energetic live performances and socially observant lyrics. Over the years, the band has maintained a devoted fan base and continued to release music that explores various social and political themes. However, as an artistic organization, Reverend and the Makers function more as a musical ensemble rather than a traditional performance venue or orchestral group.
