Palermo Classica International Festival found in 2011, has distinguished itself as one of the most innovative and daring musical entities on the Sicilian and national cultural scene. Born with the aim of filling a significant gap in the summer music calendar, it has offered the city and international audiences a unique point of reference, precisely when historic musical institutions close for the summer break. In this way, the Festival has contributed to strengthening our city’s cultural identity, making Palermo a vibrant artistic hub even in the summer months, capable of attracting audiences and artists from around the world. With over 450 concerts and more than 200 performances in various cultural areas of the Sicilian region since its first edition, Palermo Classica today can be defined as a cultural movement that on the one hand has given voice and space to a new generation of musicians, on the other has built a varied and captivating programming model, capable of breaking down temporal and cultural barriers and making classical music increasingly accessible and engaging.
