Moment teater

moment: is housed in the 1950s City cinema in the Stockholm suburb of Gubbängen. The operation was started by a collective of artists producing theatre, concerts, art exhibitions and film clubs; today it produces above all theatre, but also arranges concerts and other events, with a bar and café in the foyer. Since its start in 2000, moment has put Gubbängen on the map and established itself at the cutting edge of Swedish cultural life. It considers it vital to spread high-quality art beyond the city centre, to offer outer-city residents more than amusements and pastimes and to make the city bigger for inner-city dwellers; working in Gubbängen is both chance and choice, in the conviction that the inner city — through sell-offs, market rents and grudging neighbours — has played out its role as a creative place for free culture.
