== SFJAZZ == SFJAZZ is a leading non-profit organization dedicated to jazz, renowned as the largest jazz presenter in the world. It was founded in 1983 and has since evolved from a two-day festival into a year-round celebration of jazz through concerts, educational programs, and special events. Celebrating its 40th anniversary, SFJAZZ has grown to serve over 250,000 fans and students annually. === SFJAZZ Center === In 2013, SFJAZZ opened the doors to the SFJAZZ Center, a state-of-the-art facility located at the corner of Franklin and Fell Streets in San Francisco's vibrant arts district. The center boasts two performance spaces, numerous music practice rooms, a digital lab, and the B-Side restaurant and bar. The center serves as a hub for jazz performance and education, reflecting the organization's commitment to the art form. === Annual Season and Festivals === SFJAZZ's annual season runs from September to May and features over 350 concerts. These events often revolve around curated weekly themes and are influenced by a rotating cast of Resident Artistic Directors. The organization is also known for the San Francisco Jazz Festival, which began in 1983 and continues to offer over 40 concerts across two weeks in June. Additionally, SFJAZZ hosts Summer Sessions from July to August, a six-week concert series that celebrates musical traditions from across the Americas. === Education === Education is a cornerstone of SFJAZZ's mission, with programs reaching more than 23,000 public school students each year throughout the Bay Area. These initiatives take place in concert halls, classrooms, and community settings, aiming to inspire and educate the next generation of jazz enthusiasts and musicians. === Membership and SFJAZZ At Home === The organization is supported by a dynamic community of SFJAZZ Members who contribute to its success. In addition to live events, SFJAZZ offers an "At Home" membership, providing exclusive online access to concerts streamed from the SFJAZZ Center. The "Fridays Live" series is a notable part of this program, offering weekly performances every Friday evening. === Mission and Vision === SFJAZZ's mission is to explore the full spectrum of jazz, from its origins to its contemporary forms around the world. It honors the artists and music that have been influenced by jazz and seeks to inspire a community through creation, presentation, and education. The organization's vision is for diverse audiences globally to appreciate jazz, respect its artists, and honor its roots in African American history and the African diaspora. === SFJAZZ Laureates === The SFJAZZ Center celebrates the connection between jazz and other art forms through its SFJAZZ Laureates program. This includes the SFJAZZ Photographer Laureate and SFJAZZ Poet Laureate chairs, which foster the relationship between jazz, photography, poetry, and spoken word. === Governance and Staff === SFJAZZ is guided by a world-class Board of Trustees and a dedicated staff. Together, they work tirelessly to present high-quality jazz concerts and educational programs, with a strong vision for the organization's future. === Racial Equity Action and Change === Acknowledging the art form's roots in the Black American experience, SFJAZZ is committed to addressing systemic racism and bias. The organization has adopted The We Have Voice Collective code of conduct to ensure a zero-tolerance policy for harassment and to promote safer, more equitable spaces for all individuals.
