Hollywood, CA, United States

Theatre 68 is a dynamic performing arts organization with a strong commitment to the development and nurturing of artists' creativity. With its roots firmly planted in both Los Angeles and New York City, Theatre 68 has established itself as a significant presence in the theatre community, fostering an environment where the inner beauty of the soul and the power of love are central to its mission. Theatre 68's mission statement emphasizes the importance of inner beauty and the soul's desire to connect and communicate deeply with others. The organization believes that love is the fundamental force that allows individuals to overcome challenges and realize their full potential. Theatre 68's vision and philosophy are grounded in the idea that exposing artists to their own inner beauty fosters a seamless connection between their internal and external worlds, thereby enhancing creativity and eliminating self-judgment. This philosophy aims to build character, boost self-esteem, and fulfill a deep-seated desire for artistic expression. At the helm of Theatre 68's creative team is Artistic Director Ronnie Marmo, who, with 68 cents and a dream, relocated to Los Angeles to pursue his passion for the arts. Marmo's journey led to the founding of Theatre 68, envisioned as a sanctuary for artistic exploration and growth. With over 25 years of experience in the industry, Marmo is an accomplished actor, director, producer, and writer hailing from Brooklyn, NY, and Woodbridge, NJ. His notable work includes starring in and producing the play "I'm Not A Comedian I'm Lenny Bruce," directed by Joe Mantegna, which enjoyed over 412 performances across Los Angeles, New York, Chicago, and a national tour. Marmo's television credits include roles on CBS' "Criminal Minds," FOX's "Lethal Weapon," and a significant recurring role on "General Hospital." His filmography extends to over 70 feature films, and as a director, he has led more than 50 stage plays, films, and TV series. Marmo's production credits encompass 12 films and over 110 plays and musicals in Los Angeles, New York City, and Chicago. For the past 22 years, he has served as the proud Artistic Director of Theatre 68 in both LA and NYC. Supporting Marmo in the management and creative direction of Theatre 68 are several key individuals. Janelle Marmo serves as the Managing Director, Megan Magee holds the position of NYC Associate Artistic Director, Aaron Craig is the LA Gym Director, John Varina acts as the NY Producer, Cortney Roles is responsible for LA Communications, and Veronica Murphy oversees NY Communications. Theatre 68 operates two primary locations: the Theatre 68 Arts Complex in Los Angeles and Theatre 68 NYC in New York City. Both venues provide spaces for performances, rehearsals, and other artistic endeavors. The organization also offers auditions and opportunities for artists to join their LA and NY companies, further emphasizing their dedication to the growth and development of theatre professionals. In summary, Theatre 68 is a vibrant and influential organization that plays a pivotal role in the performing arts landscape, driven by a philosophy that celebrates the transformative power of love and creativity in the arts.
