Hudson Theatre

New York City, NY, United States

== Hudson Theatre == The Hudson Theatre, a historic Broadway venue, is nestled just off Times Square on 44th Street, flanked by the Millennium Broadway Hotel and The Premier Hotel. It opened its doors on October 19, 1903, with the production of "Cousin Kate" featuring the renowned Ethel Barrymore. The theatre was the brainchild of Henry B. Harris, a prominent Broadway producer of the era. Its 100-foot long lobby was unprecedented for Broadway at the time of its opening. Over the years, the Hudson Theatre has seen a plethora of theatrical legends tread its boards, including Douglas Fairbanks, William Holden, Helen Hayes, Edward G. Robinson, and Dorothy Gish. Notably, Barbara Stanwyck and Judith Anderson both made their Broadway debuts at the Hudson. The theatre also played a pivotal role in television history when it hosted the first nationwide broadcast of "The Tonight Show" starring Steve Allen on September 27, 1956. In recognition of its architectural and historical significance, the Hudson Theatre was designated a landmark in 1987. == Ambassador Theatre Group (ATG) == Ambassador Theatre Group (ATG), founded in 1992 in the United Kingdom, has evolved to become the world's leading live-theatre company.
