With multiple Canadian Folk Music Awards, Genticorum have earned a reputation as a leading voice in the evolution of Québécois traditional music. For over twenty years, the trio has earned a place of privilege on world, traditional, folk and Celtic music stages. Solstice Festival favorites, they are known for their unbridled energy, their musicianship, and their magnetic stage presence. Pascal Gemme (fiddle) and Yann Falquet (guitar), the group’s two founding members, are both recognized individually as major contributors to the trad music scene in Québec. Since 2015, they have been joined by accomplished multi-instrumentalist and composer Nicholas Williams (flute, accordion). Together, they weave precise and intricate fiddle, flute, and accordion work, gorgeous vocal harmonies,and energetic foot percussion and guitar accompaniment into a big and jubilant musical feast.

Features the stunning voice of Irish singer Eilis Kennedy from Dingle, Ireland. In 2020, Kennedy, inspired by a series of letters written by Whaling fisherman that she found in the New Bedford Whaling Museum, wrote an album of songs inspired by the sea and the men and women who make their lives around it.

French settler culture, the Irish fishing industry, Mass migration from Scotland and of course, the indigenous music of the first nations in Canada will feature in this foot stomping evening of music!

For over twenty years, the trio has earned a place of privilege on world, traditional, folk and Celtic music stages. The trio has won over audiences at such prestigious events as Celtic Connections in Scotland, the Tønder Folk Festival in Denmark, the National Folk Festival in Australia, the Independent Music Festival in Alexandria, Egypt, the Rain Forest Festival in Malaysia, as well as countless venues across North America. Weaving intricate fiddle, flute and accordion lines, subtle guitar textures and exhilarating foot percussion, the pleasure that these three musicians have creating and playing together is palpable.

Sunfest, in collaboration with Cuckoo's Nest Folk Club, presents Genticorum, a renowned Quebec folk trio blending contemporary North American and European folk music with traditional Québécois tunes. Comprised of Yann Falquet, Pascal Gemme, and Nicholas Williams, the group’s energetic sound features fiddles, guitar, wooden flute, and percussion through rhythmic foot tapping. Their dynamic performances have earned them Canadian Folk Music Awards, JUNO nominations, and international acclaim. Genticorum’s latest album, Au coeur de l'aube (2023), follows over 1,000 concerts across 15 countries, with a growing fan base in New England and California.
