Welcome to a world where nature becomes music, and music becomes stories! Here, neither the performers nor the audience know what is going to happen. The only thing we know is that it will be exciting, funny, beautiful and virtuosic. Emma Elliane and Martin improvise freely, and the music they create on the spot is often rhythmic, melodic and energetic.

The improvisation band Quest has kept going for over 20 years. The four musicians come from different backgrounds, but through many years of playing together they have developed a close musical communication with a distinctive expression. Their inspirations come from modern jazz, rock, folk music and contemporary music. Quest's music is marked by great contrasts, alternating between meditative soundscapes and atonal sound experiments. The sound of the instruments (percussion, trumpet, electric guitar) may also be supplemented by sampled sounds from the surroundings (nature, voices, noise), which are integrated into the music through electronic processing. In this way, the musicians of Quest, through collective improvisation, want to communicate not only with one another, but with the world around us.

Quest

Staying true to its roots, Überjam stands like a pillar in memory of the days when everything with "slap" bass was called "West Coast" without anyone knowing why. The response from the audience has been overwhelming, and the humor around song history, combined with a high hum-along factor, makes this a memorable and unforgettable session.

There is no better occasion to get going again with one of the most eye-opening Norwegian jazz bands, which toured five continents until its hiatus in 2012. Now the original lineup of The Core, with Kjetil Møster, Erlend Slettevoll, Steinar Raknes and Espen Aalberg, is back, once again ready to spread the good news of energetic acoustic jazz.

Those who know the local music scene have surely seen these musicians before, but not in this exact lineup, and not with this repertoire.

Quest is a free-improvising band that draws inspiration from different kinds of music: jazz, rock and folk music. The sound of the acoustic instruments blends with electronically processed sound, creating a fantastically unified expression. The driving element of the music is improvisation, in which the surroundings play along, often quite literally in the form of sampled sounds from the local environment.

This is because one of the members has become ill. Due to the regulations around choirs and public concerts at the moment, this concert is therefore being cancelled.

Improvisational moments are important when Sandra Borøy and her musicians perform on stage. The way they play together has improved a lot since they started working together in 2012 and their different musical references meet in a popish form which blossoms through her compositions. Together they try to describe the different qualities of life through candid lyrics, playful melodies and recognizable harmonies – where the goal is to lure the listeners into the world of jazz.

Sandra Borøy Band

In the autumn of 2014, twelve musicians came together with a shared musical goal: to create a new musical organism. Built from Norwegian and Swedish parts, this energetic machine was meant to use the organism's own material to serve its audience a backward swerve across the countryside and along the shore. The result has become a monster with twenty-four arms, twelve brains and 120 eager fingers.

The album was also very well received outside the country.
