Alto saxophone icon Jesse Davis has been a pillar of the jazz community for nearly 40 years. With roots in bebop and the blues, Davis’ music has evolved into what the saxophonist has described as neo-bop. The New Orleans native studied under the instruction of Ellis Marsalis and honed his art alongside jazz greats like Wynton Marsalis, Jack McDuff, Cecil Payne and others. This season, the Naples Philharmonic Jazz Orchestra welcomes Davis for an evening of jazz music straight out of the Crescent City.

Steve Davis

Known for his lyrical, hard-swinging style, Steve Davis is widely regarded as one of today’s leading voices on the trombone. Over the course of his illustrious career, the award-winning trombonist has released 20 albums and has recorded with such venerated jazz luminaries as Art Blakey’s Jazz Messengers, Chick Corea, Horace Silver, Hank Jones and many others. Davis’ Grammy-winning recordings with Chick Corea and the Spanish Heart Band, as well as with the Christian McBride Big Band, have solidified the trombonist among today’s elite jazz musicians.
