Nationally recognized as a leader in the field of youth choral conductors, Emily Ellsworth enjoys an active schedule as guest conductor and clinician both nationally and abroad. She has conducted all-state choirs and festivals in over 30 states, honor choirs for the Western, Northwest, North Central, and Southwest divisions of the American Choral Directors’ Association, the national children’s honor choir for ACDA’s 60th anniversary conference, and the national youth treble honor choir for OAKE in 2023. It has been her honor to conduct several national youth choral festivals with MCP at Carnegie Hall. International appearances include festival choirs in Ireland, England, Hong Kong, Grand Cayman Island, Greece, and presentations for the national association of choral directors in Brazil.

Craig Arnold has conducted works large and small in most of the United States, frequently at Carnegie Hall, Lincoln Center, Orchestra Hall in Chicago, and other major venues throughout the world. He has had an extensive career as conductor of choirs and orchestras of all ages; educator of graduate, undergraduate, high school, and middle school students; guest lecturer for teacher and conductor training; and guest conductor of workshops, festivals, and all state choirs across the country.  Following a tenure as Director of Choral Activities and Conductor of the internationally renowned Nordic Choir at Luther College in Decorah, Iowa, he is currently the Artistic Director of Manhattan Chorale and Chamber Orchestra.

LYNDA R. HASSELER, D.M.A., assumed the directorship of the renowned Capital University Chapel Choir in July 1990, and is Professor of Music and Director of Choral Activities in the Conservatory of Music at Capital University, in Columbus, Ohio, where she directs the Chapel Choir, Choral Union, and teaches undergraduate and graduate conducting. In partnership with Craig Courtney, she is co-editor of the Capital University Choral Series published by Beckenhorst Press. She graduated from Calvin College in Grand Rapids, Michigan, and received her Master of Music and Doctor of Musical Arts degrees in conducting from Michigan State University.

Dr. Z. Randall Stroope is an American composer and conductor who has served as Professor of Music/Director of Choral Studies at three universities, conducted 47 all-state choirs, and directed over 45 times at Carnegie Hall and the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts.  He has had performing ensembles twice on the American Choral Directors Association national convention, and numerous times on regional and state conventions.  Internationally, in the last three years, Randall has had conducting engagements in Hong Kong, Rome, Helsinki, Barcelona, Singapore, Prague, Stockholm, Salzburg, and Dublin.  He has performed music for mass at the Vatican at least once every year since 2008, and is the Artistic Director for two summer music festivals in Europe.  He is an honorary board member of the Italian Choral Directors Association.

Kimberly Dunn Adams is the Director of Choral Activities and Associate Professor of Music at Western Michigan University, where she directs the University Chorale, Anima, Collegiate Singers, Grand Chorus, and graduate program in choral conducting. She also teaches choral literature, choral conducting, and advanced conducting.

Elizabeth Swanson is the Associate Director of Choral Studies at the University of Colorado Boulder. She is honored to serve as conductor of the CU Treble Chorus (formerly the Women's Chorus) and the University Choir, which was founded in 1938 by Warner Imig. A passionate educator, Swanson also teaches courses in conducting at the undergraduate level, applied lessons in conducting at the graduate level, and serves on master’s and doctoral committees. Her conducting students have reached the final round in ACDA student conducting competitions and have been hired at leading universities upon graduation.

In his role as Co-Director of Choral Studies at the Lawrence University Conservatory of Music, Steve Sieck directs Concert Choir, which he has led to two ACDA regional conference performances, and Viking Chorale, which performed at one ACDA state conference.  In the classroom, Steve teaches the Choral Rehearsal Techniques sequence and supervises the choral music education program. A native of Oak Park, IL, Steve received his B.A. in Music from the University of Chicago, and then sang professionally and taught 7th-12th grade music in Los Angeles.  He received his M.M. and D.M.A. degrees in Choral Conducting from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, where he directed the Women’s Glee Club, the Graduate Chamber Singers, and sang the lead tenor roles in productions of The Fairy Queen, Don Giovanni, and Candide.

In addition to teaching graduate-level choral conductors and aspiring undergraduate conductors, Dr. Barber is developing a new initiative designed to prepare Yale students to work with young musicians on choral music in school and church settings.

Jamie Hillman is an American and Canadian musician, active as a conductor, singer, pianist, music educator, and composer. He holds the endowed Elmer Iseler Chair in Conducting at the University of Toronto where he is Director of Choral Studies and an Associate Professor. He conducts the U of T MacMillan Singers and leads the master's and doctoral degree programs in Choral Conducting, as well as the annual summer Choral Conducting Symposium. He is also cross listed as an adjunct faculty member in Emmanuel College's Master of Sacred Music program.

Ryan Person serves as director of choral activities and associate professor of music at Morningside University in Sioux City, Iowa. At Morningside, he conducts the forty-member Morningside Choir, which has been celebrated for its exceptional choral artistry and eclectic programming. The ensemble recently performed at ACDA National Conference, ACDA Midwestern Region Conference, and was selected as the winner of The American Prize in Choral Performance (College/University Division), a comprehensive national performing arts competition. Under Person’s direction, The Morningside Choir has traveled to continental and international locations, including South Africa, Germany, Austria, and the Czech Republic.

Richard Bjella has distinguished himself as a conductor, clinician, choral pedagogue, and choral arranger around the world. In 2014 Bjella was appointed Artistic Director of the San Antonio Chamber Choir. Their most recent CD, UNFROZEN: A Baltic Christmas received Grammy attention in 2018.

An accomplished conductor, Brian Clissold has had great success working with choirs, and more specifically, specializing in community-based choirs throughout the Midwest. He was recently appointed as the new Artistic Director of the Hopewell Valley Chorus (Hopewell, New Jersey). Mr. Clissold recently served as the Artistic Director of The Celebration Singers (Cranford, New Jersey). As a baritone, he is a founding member of the professional New York based ensemble, Manhattan Chorale. He performs regularly in renowned venues such as Carnegie Hall and has sung numerous roles in oratorios, masses, and operas. He boasts frequent appearances with the Battle Creek (MI) Symphony Orchestra and Butler University (IN) Symphony and is sought after as a clinician and adjudicator in Michigan, Indiana, New Jersey, and New York. Clissold was recently named Conductor-in-Residence with Manhattan Concert Productions.

Dr. Andrew Last is the Weston Noble Endowed Professor and Director of Choral Activities at Luther College in Decorah, IA where he conducts the Nordic Choir, teaches conducting, and serves as the Artistic Director for Christmas at Luther.  Last is part of an exciting choral program at Luther College that includes three choral faculty, nearly 400 singers, five choral ensembles, numerous regional and national ACDA convention performances, and regularly presents choral/orchestra works.

A San Francisco native, Margaret Nomura Clark joined the Children’s Chorus of Washington as Artistic Director in August 2016. She oversees the artistic and pedagogical direction of CCW, which has grown to include eight ensembles with over 250 choristers and a dozen music educators and arts administrators on staff. Under her leadership, CCW maintains its reputation as the Mid-Atlantic’s premiere youth chorus, with a robust performance and touring schedule each season. 

Mrs. Clark highly values collaborative partnerships as an avenue for providing outstanding choral education and performance experiences for youth. She is passionate about seeking out partners who will broaden the types of music, performance opportunities, and cultures her students are able to work with.
