The Jazz Showcase is a renowned jazz club located in Chicago, Illinois, and holds the distinction of being the city's oldest historic jazz venue. Established in 1947 by Joe Segal, the club has since become a hallowed ground for jazz enthusiasts and a beacon of jazz music in Chicago. Currently, the Jazz Showcase is managed by Wayne Segal, who continues his father Joe's legacy. Over the years, the Jazz Showcase has hosted a pantheon of jazz legends. The Jazz Showcase has not only been a platform for established artists but has also witnessed historic moments in jazz history. In 1970, it was the recording site for the live album "The Chase" by Gene Ammons and Dexter Gordon, produced by Joe Segal. Additionally, the club was where Ahmad Jamal recorded his trio album "Chicago Revisited" in 1992.
