== Center for the Arts == === Overview === The Center for the Arts is a non-profit organization located in Jackson Hole, dedicated to fostering a creative community by providing a dedicated campus for arts programming and nurturing a collaborative spirit. The Center operates with a mission to connect the community through the arts, embracing values of stewardship, excellence, inclusion, creativity, and respect. === Mission and Vision === The mission of the Center for the Arts is to connect the creative community by providing a dedicated campus that supports excellent programming and fosters a collaborative spirit. The vision of the organization is to make artistic experiences central to the Jackson Hole community, guided by the principles of stewardship, excellence, inclusion, creativity, and respect. === Land Acknowledgement === The Center for the Arts acknowledges the historical significance of the land on which it operates. It recognizes the Cheyenne, Eastern Shoshone, and Shoshone-Bannock peoples as the original custodians of the land and pays respect to their elders, past, present, and future generations. === History === In 1991, the need for a shared arts facility was identified by local arts organizations, artists, and community members in Jackson Hole due to increasing rents and inadequate facilities. A grant from the Community Foundation of Jackson Hole kickstarted the planning for such a facility. Over the next five years, various studies were conducted, including needs and facilities assessments, site selection, feasibility, and economic impact studies, all pointing to the necessity of an arts center. In 2007, construction was completed, and the Center for the Arts, now a 78,000 square foot campus, was established to serve the Jackson Hole region. === Community Commitment === The Center for the Arts is committed to inclusivity and diversity within its programs and the community it serves. Efforts are being made to reflect internally and collaborate externally to provide a variety of perspectives in the arts. The organization strives to make the arts accessible to everyone, creating an environment where all individuals can experience art on the campus. === Governance and Operations === The Center for the Arts is governed by a Board of Directors and managed by a dedicated staff. Information about the governing documents, annual reports, staff members, and board directors is available to the public. The Center also offers various programs, rental opportunities, and job openings. === Contact Information === For further inquiries or to share thoughts on the Center's initiatives, the public is encouraged to reach out via the provided email address: info@jhcenterforthearts.org.
