Over the last four decades, the trio format has been John Scofield’s favorite mode of expression. 2024’s incarnation of the John Scofield Trio features Scofield on guitar, Vicente Archer on bass and Bill Stewart on drums. The music is intricate, personal and complex, highlighting a repertoire of Scofield compositions and jazz standards, along with material ranging from Bob Dylan to Miles Davis.

John Scofield has been playing the guitar since 1962. His influence in the music scene began in the mid-70’s and is going strong today. Possessor of a very distinctive sound and stylistic diversity, Scofield is a masterful jazz improviser whose music generally falls somewhere between post-bop, funk edged jazz, and R & B. He began his international career as a bandleader and recording artist in 1975. From 1982-1985, Scofield toured and recorded with Miles Davis.
