The Nashville Chamber Music Society (NCMS) is a vibrant organization dedicated to fostering the appreciation and performance of chamber music in Nashville. With a mission to build community through the joy of music, NCMS offers a variety of programs and events that cater to classical musicians and enthusiasts alike. One of the flagship events organized by the NCMS is the annual Chamber Music Sight-Reading Party. This event is a unique opportunity for classical musicians to come together for an evening of sight-reading, socializing, and enjoyment. It is designed to be a fun and engaging experience where participants can explore new music, meet fellow musicians, and share their passion for music. The details for the 2023-24 Sight-Reading Party, including date, time, and location, are yet to be determined. In addition to the Sight-Reading Party, NCMS runs several other programs such as the Young Artists Chamber Academy (YACA), Adult Chamber Series, and Live in Nashville Concerts. These initiatives aim to support and develop the skills of young musicians as well as to provide performance opportunities for adult amateurs and professionals. The organization is led by a dedicated team of individuals who are passionate about chamber music and its role in the community. MaryGrace Bender serves as the Founder and Artistic Director, bringing her vision and expertise to the forefront of NCMS's activities. She is supported by a team that includes Brendan Jacklin as the Director of Programming, Danielle Maeng as the Director of Media and Marketing, Charissa Leung as the Chamber Coach for the Young Artist Program, and Hannah Sorrells-Tyler who contributes as a Program Writer and Merchandise Designer. The financial health of the society is overseen by Blake Waggoner, who acts as the Treasurer and Financial Advisor. The board is presided over by Alex Smith, serving as President, and Max Johnson holds the role of Director of Education and Community Engagement. Media and press inquiries are addressed by their dedicated team, and the society maintains transparency through a frequently asked questions (FAQs) section. Additionally, NCMS is involved in The Opus Project, further demonstrating their commitment to the growth and development of chamber music in the Nashville area. The Nashville Chamber Music Society is a beacon for chamber music in the region, providing enriching experiences for musicians and audiences alike.
