See and hear the best-of-the-best young talent compete on the Winspear stage for a chance to be discovered. Finalists will perform with The Dallas Opera Orchestra as they compete against singers from across the country, many of whom are already appearing with national opera companies. Attendees are invited to join the action by voting for the “People’s Choice Award” winner of the evening!

This 90-minute edge-of-your-seat retelling of the classic Greek myth is Richard Straussat his most riveting and famed duo Sir David McVicar and John Macfarlane at their most thrilling.

Join us for a festive concert of opera selections that showcases some of the world’s most brilliant young conductors. Each conductor will lead The Dallas Opera Orchestra in several pieces from one opera, sung by some of the country’s top singers. The conductor and orchestra will be projected on to a large screen on stage providing a unique view of the performers and conducting style.

Whether he’s charming audiences as Figaro’s sidekick, Count Almaviva, or falling desperately in love with Cinderella as Prince Charming, Lawrence Brownlee is pure delight on stage. Hailed by The New York Times as “an international star in the bel canto operatic repertory,” Brownlee’s bright tenor has filled opera houses from New York to Rome. This recital will be one to remember.

Get out your pencils—you’ll want to keep track of this one! Manuelita loves Pépito, but he’s away at war. She captures the attention of many, but she is determined to be true to her love. That is, until a letter arrives from Pépito and turns everything topsy turvy! This one-act comedy is full of fun, charm, and delightful music.

Join us for this special performance, sung in English, and designed for audiences aged 3 and up! Pépito is just under 60 minutes (with no intermission!), making this the perfect family show! All seating is general admission at the beautiful Winspear Opera House.
