The Sensational Soul Cruisers are an 11 man horn group fronted by four soulful vocalists who pay homage and tribute to classic performers from Otis Redding and the Drifters to Barry White and the Commodores. With a lifetime of study and hard work, this group captures and emulates the distinctive style, skill and choreography of a classic show band. The Soul Cruisers are former members of famous R & B and smooth soul groups, capturing the true essence of the Jersey Shore sound and its true R&B roots, the classic Philly Soul, Motown, Disco, Stax, and the music of Earth, Wind & Fire, Chicago. While the group has been known as the Soul Cruisers for the past 18 years, the rhythm section was known for many years prior to that, being the band behind Eddie Testa, as Eddie and the Cruisers. That band and its name inspired the somewhat popular (albeit entirely fictionally based) movie of the same name.

The Sensational Soul Cruisers are New Jersey’s top show band, performing the best of RnB, Motown, Disco and Philly Soul. Fans describe them as a cross between Kool and the Gang, Chicago and the Temptations, delivering a WOW” show, time after time. Their four choreographed lead vocalist deliver the greatest hits of The Temptations, The Four Tops, The Jackson Five, The Spinners, Smokey Robinson and so many more. Do you remember a movie called Eddie and the Cruisers? Prior to the creation of the Soul Cruisers, the rhythm section was the band behind Eddie Testa, as Eddie and the Cruisers. That band and its name inspired the movie of the same name. So many National Artists have been guests at Soul Cruisers shows, including Bruce Springsteen, Clarence Clemons, John Eddie, Southside Johnny, and so many more. The group has over 17,000 loyal followers on Facebook, with many coming to shows for decades.

The Sensational Soul Cruisers are beginning a new chapter as recording artists under Banner Records. From their humble beginnings rehearsing in Freehold Borough at the chicken coops on Route 33 to the basement of the Cycle Shop on Throckmorton Street, this band has come a long way from its “Eddie and the Cruisers” days and are ready to be added to the list of New Jersey’s great recording acts.
