The Midtown Arts & Theater Center Houston, commonly known as MATCH, is a cultural hub located at 3400 Main Street in Houston, Texas. Established as a collaborative project, MATCH was conceived by four small arts organizations twelve years prior to its realization. These organizations aspired to create a space where they could collaborate and coexist, leading to the development of a unique venue that presents the arts in an intimate and engaging manner. The center is designed to serve as a home for Houston's diverse arts scene. It features an array of facilities including four performance spaces, three rehearsal studios, a 3,000 square foot gallery space, and office accommodations for up to 60 arts professionals. The center has not increased rental rates since 2019, but due to the rise in the Consumer Price Index and associated operating costs, it has implemented new prices for rental fees, ticket fees, and technical labor charges. These changes are designed to ensure the sustainability of the facility while continuing to provide a platform for artists and organizations to showcase their work. Existing events already scheduled will honor the old rental fees, while new events and those scheduled after July 1, 2024, will be subject to the new pricing.
