==The Choral Project== '''The Choral Project''' is a distinguished choral ensemble based in the San Francisco Bay Area, renowned for its exceptional performance of a diverse range of choral literature. Founded in 1996 by Artistic Director Daniel Hughes, the ensemble has been celebrated by ''The Mercury News'' as a "Bay Area jewel," and has built a reputation for its ability to seamlessly blend text with music, and connect performers with audiences. The ensemble has achieved international recognition, performing to critical acclaim at concert performances and choral festivals across the globe. Their repertoire spans a variety of traditions, reflecting the cultural diversity of the region they represent. The Choral Project is also known for its innovative concert presentations and its dedication to promoting the choral arts by premiering new works. In 2016, ''Bachtrack.com'' praised The Choral Project's collaboration with The King's Singers, describing the concert as a "rare opportunity" to witness two world-class vocal groups presenting a unique repertoire. Similarly, ''San Francisco Classical Voice'' lauded their January 2014 performance with Canadian Brass, ranking it among the most memorable concert experiences. The Choral Project has also made a significant impact on the international choral scene. In October 2011, they toured Northern Spain, participating in the International Choral Competition in Tolosa and performing to full houses in various towns across the Basque Region. Their success is further highlighted by their achievements at the California International Choral Festival & Competition in San Luis Obispo in July 2007, where they placed in all three categories, including a first-place win in the Choir’s Choice category. The ensemble's excellence was recognized at the 58th annual International Eisteddfod in Wales in 2004, where they secured 2nd place in the Mixed Choir competition and received the highest individual score for their performance of Juris Karlsons’s ''Neslegtais gredzens''. Their inaugural international tour in 2001 took them to Mexico and Costa Rica, where they delivered performances that garnered standing ovations and rave reviews, including on Mexican National Radio. The Choral Project has premiered works by a number of esteemed composers, such as Stephen Schwartz, Nico Muhly, and Eric William Barnum, showcasing their commitment to contemporary choral music. The ensemble's discography includes ten albums, featuring a variety of themes and live performances that encapsulate their 20 seasons of singing. These albums, including ''The Cycle of Life'', ''Of Christmastide'', and ''20: An Anniversary Compilation'', are available on iTunes and represent the ensemble’s dedication to choral excellence. With a history of artistic achievements and a passion for choral innovation, The Choral Project continues to be a leading voice in the world of choral music, inspiring audiences and preserving the rich tapestry of choral artistry.
