The Chamber Orchestra of New York, founded in 2007, made its debut at Carnegie Hall's Zankel Hall. It quickly gained recognition for its polished and rich sound, earning praise from The New York Times. The orchestra's advisory board has boasted notable figures such as film composer Ennio Morricone and conductor Alan Gilbert. It performs a series of concerts at Carnegie Hall and has been commissioned by prestigious institutions like The Morgan Library & Museum and the United Nations. The orchestra is dedicated to bridging classical and modern traditions, featuring unique repertoire that includes film music and rediscovered masterworks. Under the guidance of Music Director Salvatore Di Vittorio, it has taken on projects like premiering and recording early works of Ottorino Respighi, leading to collaborations with Casa Ricordi in Milan. The orchestra has also established educational programs and competitions to foster future generations of musicians. Celebrating its 15th anniversary in the 2022/2023 season, the Chamber Orchestra of New York continues to champion a broad array of music, from classical masterpieces to contemporary compositions, maintaining its commitment to innovation and excellence in the classical music landscape.
