The Theater Center

The Theater Center is an Off-Broadway complex situated in the vibrant heart of New York's Theater District, at the intersection of 50th Street and Broadway. This state-of-the-art facility, which spans 20,000 square feet, officially opened its doors on April 18th, 2005, and has since established itself as a prominent cultural destination. The Center features two main theaters, along with rehearsal studios, modern lobbies, and amenities such as WiFi, two bars with cabaret-style seating, and merchandise stands. Designed to be inclusive and accessible, The Theater Center provides an elevator at the 50th Street entrance and ensures wheelchair accessibility throughout its premises. Additionally, both theaters are equipped with RF Assistive Listening device transmitters to cater to patrons with hearing impairments. The history of The Theater Center began with a year-long transformation in 2005, converting a bare-boned space into the thriving Off-Broadway theatre complex it is known as today. The Anne L. Bernstein Theater, one of the two main theaters within the complex, is notable for housing "Perfect Crime," the longest-running play in New York. The Jerry Orbach Theater, named in honor of the original cast member of "The Fantasticks," has hosted a long-running revival of this world’s longest-running musical. Currently, the Jerry Orbach Theater presents a variety of productions, including "The Office A Musical Parody," "Friends A Musical Parody," and "Singfeld A Musical Parody." Beyond theatrical productions, The Theater Center offers a range of experiences, including acting classes and event spaces, catering to both the art community and those seeking a unique venue for corporate events and more.
