The Doobie Brothers is an American rock band known for its distinctive sounds and wide-ranging musical styles, including rock, soul, and country. Originally formed in 1970 in San Jose, California, the band achieved significant popularity throughout the 1970s and 80s. Founding members included Tom Johnston, Patrick Simmons, John Hartman, and Dave Shogren. They gained fame with hits such as 'Listen to the Music,' 'Long Train Runnin',' and 'What a Fool Believes.' The latter song won them a Grammy Award for Record of the Year in 1980. Known for their distinctive harmonies and ability to seamlessly blend different musical genres, The Doobie Brothers have continued to perform live and maintain a strong fanbase over the decades. Their impact on rock and popular music is recognized with their induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2020.
