Winter Haven, United States
Theatre Winter Haven, established in 1970 as the cultural arts arm of the City of Winter Haven, became a separate nonprofit entity in 1981. Recognized as one of the best community theatres in America by the Tampa Tribune, the Lakeland Ledger, and the Winter Haven News Chief, it aims to inspire, challenge, entertain, and educate the community through exceptional theatrical experiences. The organization produces a five-play MainStage subscription season, a two-play Academy series, a Professional Series, and numerous Tribute Tuesday Series events annually. In Fall 2022, Theatre Winter Haven opened the Norman and Linda Small Stage, a new Blackbox theatre, enhancing its performance spaces. Each year, the theatre sells 30,000 tickets, hosts 120 performances, and contributes a $7.5 million economic impact to Polk County, supported by 7,000 volunteer hours.
