Great American Big Band Patriotic Concert

The 15-day Senior Musical Camp will be held weekdays, July 8-26, 2024 (9am-3pm) and is open to students who will be starting grades sixth through twelfth. In the camp, students will work together to produce the musical play Anastasia the Youth Edition and will learn the process all the way through auditions, rehearsals, and technical assistance

Broadway has always produced great songs by fabulous composers: George Gershwin, Richard Rogers, Leonard Bernstein, Steven Sondheim, to name a few. Most of the Great American Song Book came from Broadway. In this special concert event, we’ll play new arrangements of songs by each of these composers and others. From “Porgy & Bess” to “Jesus Christ Superstar” along with some jazz classics by Dizzy Gillespie, Horace Silver, and Roland Kirk. This exciting concert will have you asking for more.

The tale is a classic fairy story, a rags-to-riches tale about a kind-hearted girl who suffers various hardships only to marry the prince of the kingdom.

The screenplay is by Lawrence Kasdan and George Lucas from a story by Lucas, who was also the executive producer. The sequel to Star Wars and The Empire Strikes Back, it is the third installment in the original Star Wars trilogy. The film is about Luke Skywalker, Leia Organa, and Han Solo reuniting and joining up with the amassing rebel fleet to take down the evil Empire once and for all.

But Mary and her new friend Dickon manage to bring the garden back to life, and in the garden, Colin learns to walk and becomes a healthy, happy boy. For this concert, Dave Weaver and the band pull out all of the R&B and Funk stops. The Dirty Dozen is a 1967 American war film directed by Robert Aldrich and starring Lee Marvin. Set in 1944 during the Second World War the film was a box office success and won the Academy Award for Best Sound Editing at the 40th Academy Awards in 1968. The screenplay is based on the 1965 bestseller by E. M. Nathanson which was inspired by a real-life WWII unit of behind-the-lines demolition specialists from the 101st Airborne Division named the "Filthy Thirteen". Another possible inspiration was the public offer to President Franklin D. Roosevelt by 44 prisoners serving life sentences at the Oklahoma State Penitentiary to serve in the Pacific on suicide missions against the Japanese.
