Carmen Flórez-Mansi leads The Santa Fe Symphony Chorus in three spectacular community concerts in 2025-2026. The first of these, Choral Masterworks, features the voices of our Children, Youth, and Adult Choruses performing some of the most beloved choral music ever written.

Under the direction of guest conductor Maximiano Valdés, The Santa Fe Symphony presents percussionist Svet Stoyanov in the local debut of Emmanuel Séjourné’s jazz-inspired Concerto for Marimba and String Orchestra. Critics across the U.S. are raving about Stoyanov’s virtuosity on the marimba, calling him inspired and a driving force in the world of modern percussion.

Back by popular demand, violinist Alexi Kenney makes his fourth solo appearance with The Symphony in a concert that will also feature Brahms’ First Symphony. Kenney will perform Sibelius’ Violin Concerto, a work that holds special significance to the performer as it was the concerto that initially brought him to the city when he made his debut with The Santa Fe Symphony in 2015. Since that time, Kenney has become a favorite of local listeners. But the violinist is quick to point out the affection is mutual. “The Santa Fe Symphony will always hold a dear place in my heart.

The legend of Faust has been retold in countless ways over the centuries, and while five versions are known to exist, Faust always sells his soul to the Devil for unlimited knowledge and a lifetime of worldly pleasure! Under the baton of Maestro Guillermo Figueroa, with choral direction by Carmen Flórez-Mansi, Hector Berlioz’ légende dramatique, La Damnation de Faust, is not to be missed! One of Berlioz’ most striking works, La Damnation de Faust was inspired by the composer’s reading of the first translation of Göethe’s Faust into French. Likely to sell out in advance, this grand season finale will showcase the full Santa Fe Symphony Orchestra & Chorus plus an all-star cast of four seasoned soloists: mezzo-soprano Maire Therese Carmack, tenor Joseph Dennis, bass-baritone Brandon Cedel, and bass-baritone Christopher Humbert Jr.

The Santa Fe Symphony Concertmaster, David Felberg, performs Jennifer Higdon’s 2010 Pulitzer Prize-winning Concerto for Violin in its Santa Fe debut. This brilliant program opens with Starburst for String Orchestra by Jessie Montgomery and concludes with a performance of Beethoven’s anthem to freedom and liberty—Symphony No. 3 in E-Flat Major, “Eroica”—and its retracted dedication to Napoleon, once the French had occupied the composer’s native Vienna.

Critics are raving about the “impeccable technique” and “extraordinary musicianship” of Sirena Huang, Gold Medalist of the prestigious 11th Quadrennial International Violin Competition of Indianapolis. Maestro Guillermo Figueroa conducts The Symphony for this brilliant program. Experience Tchaikovsky’s Violin Concerto in D Major, regarded as the pinnacle of Romantic music and perhaps one of the most famous violin concertos of all time. Complementing this magnificent work is Amy Beach’s Symphony in E Minor, “Gaelic,” and Sibelius’ Finlandia, featuring a side-by-side performance with our Santa Fe Youth Symphony.

Celebrate the music of Latin America with this brilliant program led by Maestro Guillermo Figueroa, presenting the talents of your Santa Fe Symphony Orchestra and guest soloists JP Jofre and Miguel del Águila. JP Jofre, one of the world’s leading performers of the bandoneón—the Latin American version of the accordion—joins us for Astor Piazzolla’s Concerto for Bandoneón, “Aconcagua.” We are also honored to have a special appearance by Latin GRAMMY®-nominated composer and musician Miguel del Águila playing the conga on his popular Conga, a not-to-be-missed performance! This exciting afternoon of great music also presents Roberto Sierra’s brilliant Symphony No. 3, “La Salsa” and Ariel Ramírez’ Misa Criolla, with a side-by-side performance with The Santa Fe Symphony Youth Symphony Orchestra, plus appearances by local guitarists and percussionists.

As promised, we have something for everyone this season! Enjoy Christmas Eve with Time for Three and the Santa Fe Symphony. George Frideric Handel’s glorious Messiah is a landmark oratorio, with soaring arias, memorable choruses, and all the elegance traditionally associated with the High Baroque style. This beloved masterpiece is also one of the most enduring messages of hope in the entire choral repertoire. Don’t miss The Symphony’s annual performance at the Lensic—a Santa Fe tradition and a “can’t miss” event of every holiday season. Conducted by Gary Thor Wedow and featuring the full Symphony Orchestra and Chorus with choral direction by Carmen Flórez-Mansi. This year’s brilliant cast of stars include soprano Cadie J. Maestro Guillermo Figueroa conducts for a memorable afternooon of spellbinding music from two of the biggest names in classical music history. The triumph of true love over evil sets the tone for selections from Tchaikovsky's beloved Swan Lake. To follow, one of the most influential ballets of the 20th century will leave you with visions of ballet dancers and puppets dancing in your head. Enjoy the rhythmic tour-de-force of Stravinsky's magical Petrouchka.

2022 Van Cliburn finalist Clayton Stephenson joins The Santa Fe Symphony Orchestra under the baton of Maestro Guillermo Figueroa for its spectacular 2024-2025 Season Opener, performing Ravel’s Piano Concerto in G Major. Billed as “not just a remarkable virtuoso but a poet, dramatist and a master storyteller,” Stephenson promises to deliver a performance like none other. Also on the program are Mozart’s “Jupiter” Symphony and Gershwin’s iconic An American in Paris.

The Santa Fe Symphony proudly joins songwriter and composer Rufus Wainwright for one night only as part of his Want Symphonic tour! Building on the success of our performance with Lyle Lovett last fall, we are thrilled to continue our collaborative performances at the Santa Fe Opera with Lensic 360 for the second year in a row. The release of this folk music legend’s Want One and Want Two albums fueled his meteoric rise in music. Wainwright will be performing each song from both albums, in their entirety, with beautiful new orchestral arrangements performed by The Santa Fe Symphony Orchestra. This spectacular concert, presented by Lensic 360 to benefit the Santa Fe Human Rights Alliance, is a non-subscription, but very special event you do not want to miss!

The Santa Fe Opera

A Santa Fe favorite, Nosotros is undoubtedly the Southwest’s top dance band. They seamlessly combine Latin rhythms with elements of Rock, Salsa, Jazz, and Cumbia—creating an original sound that is unmistakable. Originally from Las Cruces, NM, Nosotros is now based in the Albuquerque/Santa Fe area. They have a near non-stop performance schedule and have been featured on NPR’s Alt Latino; named twice as winners in the prestigious John Lennon Songwriting Competition; and awarded 13 New Mexico Music Awards including “Best Latin Song” and “Best Arrangement,” and “Producer of the Year.”

We are thrilled to announce the 2024 Annual Concerto Competition. All young orchestral and choral musicians between 14 and 22 years of age are encouraged to apply. This competition is open to instrumentalists in high school and college who play a symphonic instrument and can submit a YouTube link to a videoed performance of themselves playing a 5 to 7 minute classical concerto work (Sorry, no piano submissions at this time).

Join us for a once-in-a-lifetime SFS Strata chamber concert during our final weekend of the 40th Anniversary Season! In Celebration of Earth Day and presented in partnership with WildEarth Guardians, Oceana presents Native American composer Jerod Tate’s Chokfi’ (Rabbit)—Sarcasm for String Orchestra and Percussion, Handel’s Water Music, and Tchaikovsky’s Variations on a Rococo Theme, introducing cellist Gabriel Martins, 2020 Sphinx Competition First Prize winner. Rounding out the program is Stella Sung’s Oceana featuring compelling multimedia visuals by filmmaker Annie Crowley.

Rio Chama Prime Steakhouse

Recipient of a Borletti-Buitoni Trust Award and an Avery Fisher Career Grant, violinist Alexi Kenney was named “a talent to watch” by The New York Times. He has earned widespread acclaim across the globe and returns to Santa Fe in February 2024 performing Barber’s Violin Concerto for “American Classics.” Also on the program are works by Bernstein, Copland, and Gala Flagello. Presented as part of the Art + Sol Santa Fe Winter Arts Festival.

Ring in the New Year on January 14 with your Santa Fe Symphony Orchestra and Grammy®-nominated violinist Philippe Quint in Charlie Chaplin’s Smile. This incredible program presents a multimedia tribute honoring the iconic Charlie Chaplin’s musical legacy. Quint made his debut on Warner Classics with the release of his album “Chaplin’s Smile”. Combining clips from classic Chaplin films with live music, this event is not to be missed!

Your toes will be tapping when The Santa Fe Symphony presents Symphonic Dances from Leonard Bernstein’s West Side Story, just one of the works featured on this high-spirited afternoon of symphonic dances. In what promises to be another stunning performance led by Music Director Guillermo Figueroa, the concert also includes a side-by-side performance with members of The Santa Fe Symphony Youth Orchestra performing Moncayo’s Huapango. Gabriela Lena Frank’s Three Latin American Dances and Samuel Barber’s Knoxville: Summer of 1915 round out the program.

Music Director Guillermo Figueroa conducts The Santa Fe Symphony in two glorious works from the 19th century. The concert opens with Beethoven’s 1st Symphony, a beautiful glance backward to the symphonies of Haydn and Mozart. Richard Strauss’ Don Quixote: Fantastic Variations on a Theme of Knightly Character, performed by guest cellist David Finckel, concludes the program.

With its shimmering orchestration and primal rhythms, Carl Orff’s “scenic cantata” Carmina burana is already a mainstay in the canon of contemporary music for choir and orchestra. Its lyrics are based on 24 Medieval poems addressing issues as familiar to us today as they were when they were first written in the 13th century — the fickleness of fortune and wealth, the ephemeral nature of life, the joy of spring’s return, and the pleasures and perils of drinking, gluttony, gambling and, of course, love.
