Carrying the torch passed down by the progressive bluegrass pioneers, The Seldom Scene, and the fathers of newgrass music, Newgrass Revival, Leftover Salmon are true architects of the contemporary jamgrass scene, inspiring the careers of a generation of artists including Billy Strings, Greensky Bluegrass and Yonder Mountain String Band.

Leftover Salmon has been a crucial link in keeping alive the traditional music of the past while simultaneously pushing that sound forward with their own weirdly, unique style. They began as a forward-thinking, progressive bluegrass band who was unafraid to stir in any number of highly combustible styles into their ever-evolving sound, found their role as a pioneer of the modern jam band scene, and have evolved to their current status as elder-statesmen of the scene who cast a hugely influential shadow over every festival they play. *Please note, this will be a dancing show with all reserved seating. Strings Music Festival

Vince Herman is out to have some fun. 33 years after founding Leftover Salmon, Vince is releasing an album of his own and hitting the road to play a batch of songs developed in his new Nashville home. It’s a bit of a departure from the “Salmon sound” as he digs into his idea of what country music is. There’s some bluegrass and Cajun influences and honky tonk ballads all piled atop great players taking the tunes for a ride. He’s hitting the road soon with his new band, so keep an eye out and enjoy the ride.
