The organization was initially presented by the Idaho Falls Music Club and the Community Concerts Association. In 1961, a significant transformation took place when the Idaho Falls Symphony Society was formally incorporated. The establishment of by-laws and the election of a board of directors, with Lowell Jobe as its first President, marked the beginning of a new era for the Symphony. Throughout its history, the Symphony has maintained a series of annual concerts that have brought classical music to various venues such as Freeman Park, the Colonial Theater, and the Idaho Falls Civic Center for the Performing Arts. The Symphony has become known for its partnerships with local sponsors, which have helped to foster a vibrant and nationally recognized orchestra.
