== Idaho Ballet Theatre == Idaho Ballet Theatre (IBT), founded in 2003 by Brandy K. Jensen, is a ballet school and company based in Idaho, dedicated to training young dancers in classical ballet. The institution's mission revolves around nurturing self-confidence and character development in its students through the discipline of ballet. IBT places a strong emphasis on the correct formation of body alignment and technique from an early stage, with the belief that this foundation allows for unlimited achievement in the art of ballet. The training at Idaho Ballet Theatre incorporates classical ballet technique bolstered by core strength conditioning, which students begin in the diamond level of their curriculum. IBT offers classes for a range of skill levels, from pre-ballet to advanced technique and pointe. As students progress and reach the age of 10, they have the opportunity to expand their dance repertoire to include contemporary, jazz, and modern styles, complementing their classical training. Additionally, the school provides instruction in improvisation, acting, and mime to further enhance the students' expressiveness and versatility in performance. Performance is a key component of the training at IBT, with students participating in at least two ballet productions each year. These performances are seen as an integral part of the curriculum, providing motivational experiences for the students and allowing them to engage with classical masterworks. IBT's annual productions include the Nutcracker, performed every December at the Colonial Theatre, and a different ballet each May. While IBT's students are competitive on an international level, particularly within their age groups among professional-track dancers, the school also caters to those with more recreational goals. The only competition IBT participates in is the Youth American Grand Prix Ballet Competition, which is an optional event for advanced students. The teaching staff at Idaho Ballet Theatre is committed to the success of their students, providing instruction in a fun and positive environment while maintaining age-appropriate rigor. Testimonials from the community, such as that from Shelley Corrigan, highlight the school's ability to combine a familial atmosphere with world-class instruction, attesting to the significant impact IBT has had on the lives of its students and their families.
