Music inspired by particular locales and times are featured in this concert:  Sibelius – Finlanda, Barber – Knoxville: Summer 1915 with soprano Molly Fillmore, Smetana – the Moldau, and Rimsky Korsakov – Capriccio Español are on the itinerary.

The Symphony will perform a variety of music from stage and screen under the starts in the stunning Alexandria Riverfront Amphitheater. Concert is free and open to the public.

Winners of the Symphony’s biennial Concerto Competition will be featured soloists for this concert that also includes “To Spring” by composer Dan Pertu and Beethoven’s famous Symphony No. 5 in C minor.

To The Victors

A return appearance by the dancers of the New Orleans Ballet opens our season with the Symphony performing music of Tchaikovsky, Vivaldi, and Debussy featuring Rapides Symphony harpist Deborah Goppelt.
