On April 22, The World-Famous Glenn Miller Orchestra will perform their greatest hits, including “In The Mood”, “Chattanooga Choo Choo”, “American Patrol”, “A String Of Pearls”, “Little Brown Jug”, “Pennsylvania 6-5000”, "Tuxedo Junction”, and of course their theme song “Moonlight Serenade” as they continue their national tour.

“Sharing New Orleans with the world is my calling,” says pianist and organist John “Papa” Gros (pronounced grow). “That's what I have been doing and that's what I’ll do with the rest of my life.”  For over three decades, Gros has brought his city’s celebratory culture to listeners around the globe. Gros mixes all the sounds of New Orleans - funk, trad jazz, brass band, blues  - and makes it his own signature gumbo.

Gregorian is a German band headed by Frank Peterson that performs Gregorian chant-inspired versions of modern pop and rock songs. The band features both vocal harmony and instrumental accompaniment. Originally, Gregorian was conceived as a more pop-oriented group in the vein of Enigma. In the year of 1989 a young Frank Peterson walked contemplatively through the royal monastery of San Lorenzo de El Escorial in Spain. The grounds of the medieval monastery left an indelible mark on his soul. Accompanying Peterson as he walked was the faint sound of modern-day music playing quietly through the headphones of his Walkman. Moved by the stark contrast of these two colliding worlds the initial idea of mixing ancient Gregorian music with modern day hits took hold of Peterson and the rest, as they say, is history.

Fans and critics alike hail Dave as one of the most talented songwriters and guitarists in the world - which is why he is still performing over 100 shows a year to sold-out crowds. Mason has been playing guitar most of his life. By 15, Dave had founded two bands: The Deep Feeling, and The Hellions. At 18, the Worcester, England native teamed up with Steve Winwood, Jim Capaldi, and Chris Wood to form the legendary band traffic. At 19, Mason penned the song “Feelin’ Alright”. The rock anthem, first recorded by Traffic and then covered by dozens of other artists (including Joe Cocker), cemented both Dave’s and Traffic’s legacy, and had a profound influence over rock music that continues today.

And Ada Twist's curiosity can lead her to solve any problem. A fun musical based on the books Rosie Revere, Engineer; Iggy Peck, Architect; and Ada Twist Scientist by Andrea Beaty, which spotlights the STEM curriculum (focusing on science, technology, engineering and math).

Pilobolus Is A Fungus is an interactive performance for young audiences based on Branches, a site-specific dance piece commissioned by Jacob’s Pillow.  In this show, the audience takes a journey through nature, perceiving the sounds, shapes, colors and movements of birds, water, trees, and of course, our namesake fungus, in new and unexpected ways.  With the help of the Pilobolus dancers, audience members learn to express their deep connection to the world through movement and dance.

Though the music world may consider Marcia ball a Texas artist, those of us in Louisiana know better. Marcia was raised in Vinton, LA and spent years in Baton Rouge as an LSU student. She spent her youth playing her own brand of swamp blues and boogie woogie piano. Marcia's career has spanned more than five decades and her accomplishments have made her a music icon. Ball has garnered numerous awards and has been inducted into the Austin City Limits Hall of Fame. Her many appearances on their stage began 47 years ago in their inaugural season. The years have not slowed down Marcia Ball's career and her live shows remain the stuff of legends.
