This original adaption follows the lives of Olga, Masha, and Irina, who yearn to return to Moscow. Set in a small Russian town, the play delves into their struggles with unfulfilling relationships and the passage of time. Despite their dreams, the sisters find themselves stuck, reflecting the broader sense of disillusionment in Russian society at the time.

Through rich characters and poignant dialogue, THREE SISTERS offers a timeless exploration of human longing and the quest for purpose.

The interplay between dreams and reality has long fueled human imagination. Our personal ideas, hopes, dreams and nightmares work at the edges of our subconscious awareness often revealing inner dimensions of our lives. Movement is an ideal medium for both contemplation and expression of the lived experience at the liminal intersection of the oneiric and waking mind. Join the student choreographers of SLU Theatre & Dance for an evening of new and original dance artworks that bring dreamscapes into reality.

Award-winning Armenian-American pianist Kariné Poghosyan, has been praised on the world stage for her “ability to get to the heart of the works she performs.” Since her orchestral debut at the age of fourteen, Kariné has been enchanting concert audiences around the globe, with her masterful artistry and exceptional performances that leave them forever transformed. Kariné’s most recent concerts include two sold-out recitals at Zankel Hall at Carnegie Hall, the second of which was a CD Release concert of her “Rachmaninoff and Stravinsky” recording on Centaur Records. This recording has since garnered rave reviews, with Gramophone Magazine praising its “masterly textural layering and resounding climaxes,” and the American Record Guide stating that “a more heroic program would be hard to find, and few could play as well as the Armenian-American Poghosyan.”

Dreaming of Lear is a multi-media reinterpretation of Shakespeare’s tragedy filtered through the unconscious. It is a work of devised theatre in which participating artists reconstruct the play based on dreams they have while listening to recordings of King Lear. The production the audience experiences consists of recorded interviews with the ensemble of dreamers fragments of Shakespeare's King Lear and the realization of the ensemble’s dreams on stage. Dreaming of Lear is created in collaboration with Prison Performing Arts’ Alumni Company.
