== Providence Ballet == Providence Ballet is a distinguished dance institution comprised of the Providence Ballet School and the Providence Ballet Theatre. It was founded by Eva Marie Pacheco in June 1995 and has since established itself as a nurturing environment for technical dance training at the highest level. The school's satellite location in East Greenwich opened in the summer of 1998 and moved to its current address at 63 Cedar Ave, 10 East Greenwich, in June 2022. === Providence Ballet School === The Providence Ballet School caters to a diverse range of students, starting from the age of three and extending to adult learners. The school's curriculum includes Creative Movement classes for young beginners, focusing on musical awareness, coordination, and movement exploration. As students progress, they are introduced to a rigorous ballet technique that emphasizes proper alignment, strength, and discipline, fostering expression through dance. Additionally, the school offers Modern, Contemporary, and Jazz dance classes for children aged eight and above. The faculty at Providence Ballet School consists of qualified professionals, many of whom are still active performing artists with extensive experience in working with both children and adults. The school is committed to inclusivity and accessibility, offering approximately five percent of its dance classes for free to students demonstrating financial need. This initiative has made the Providence studio a vital artistic hub in South Providence, contributing to the community's cultural enrichment. === Providence Ballet Theatre === In 2008, the Providence Ballet Theatre was established as a not-for-profit professional dance company, emerging as the third branch of the organization. The theatre has presented a variety of performances, including an original production of "Twas the Night Before Christmas," which has become a staple of the holiday season. The annual Spring Concert showcases original ballet and contemporary works, and the theatre has also produced original renditions of classic tales such as "Hansel and Gretel" and "Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs" with scores by Tony Lustig. Collaborative works like "The Magic Box," created with the Rhode Island School of Design, highlight the theatre's commitment to innovative and interdisciplinary projects. The Providence Ballet School serves as a pipeline for students to transition into performing with the Providence Youth Ballet and the Providence Ballet Theatre. Through auditions, rehearsals, and performances in a professional setting, students gain invaluable experience and exposure to the world of professional dance. === Location and Contact Information === Providence Ballet, home to the Providence Ballet Theatre, is located at 194 Oxford Street, Providence, RI 02905, with a satellite location at 63 Cedar Ave 10, East Greenwich, RI 02818.
