'''Burbage Theatre Company''' The Burbage Theatre Company (BTC) is a 501(c)(3) non-profit theatre organization located in Pawtucket, Rhode Island. Established by a group of four actors from Rhode Island College, the company was born out of a desire to take the craft of acting from the classroom to a more hands-on, creative environment. The founders' passion for acting and storytelling led to Burbage's first production, which included Eugene Ionesco's "The Bald Soprano" and an original short play titled "Stalemate." Over the years, Burbage Theatre Company has produced a diverse range of plays, including works by Paula Vogel, Will Eno, Kurt Vonnegut Jr., William Shakespeare, and Bertolt Brecht. The company has performed in various venues, from Bishop Connolly High School in Fall River, Massachusetts, to the Perishable Theatre and the Artists' Exchange in Rhode Island. Notably, BTC had a residency at AURORA Providence, a multipurpose venue and cocktail bar, where they produced two full four-play seasons. Following the closure of AURORA Providence, the company announced a partnership with TEN31 Productions and moved to their current location at 59 Blackstone Avenue. This move has allowed Burbage Theatre Company to continue its mission of staging ambitious productions and to maintain its commitment to being a central part of Pawtucket's diverse and flourishing artistic community. Burbage Theatre Company is dedicated to engaging a new generation of theatre-goers with socially relevant and compelling stories. The company focuses on both classic and contemporary works, brought to life by an inventive and expert ensemble of actors. With a strong belief in the power of acting, BTC emphasizes the actor's role as a storyteller and the importance of thought-provoking performances. BTC is committed to fostering an inclusive environment, welcoming individuals of all genders, races, ethnicities, ages, disabilities, sexual orientations, gender identities or expressions, and national origins. The company is made up of homegrown Rhode Island talent, including artists from Southern Massachusetts, all of whom have been educated within the Rhode Island Theatre Community. As Burbage Theatre Company continues to grow and cultivate the artistic landscape of Rhode Island, it remains focused on providing affordable access to the performing arts and encouraging discourse about the content and role of actors in today's world.
