Copenhagen Soloists perform Purcell's baroque gem, the opera Dido and Aeneas, as a concert performance. The work is one of the most popular operas from the Baroque era and with its relatively short duration (1 hour), intense story and lovely music, it often helps to provide a shortcut to classical music for a wider audience. Although it is a concert performance, the dramatic experience lies so strongly in the music itself that it carries the theatrical experience through the sound. The original English language is something that also makes history naturally accessible to many. A team of eight singing soloists who share chorus and solo, incl. all roles. The orchestra consists of 10 instrumentalists. It will thus be an exciting chamber music experience.
