The repertoire for wind quintet isn’t limited to pieces written specifically for the grouping. Prokofiev’s Lieutenant Kijé was originally composed as a score to an early Russian film. Dvorak’s gorgeous American String Quartet breathes another life in this performance.

﻿Hillary Schefter is a graduate of the Eastman School of Music, receiving her undergraduate and masters degrees in Harp Performance. She is Principal Harp of the Arapahoe Philharmonic, Boulder Symphony, and Littleton Symphony as well as a regularly performing member of the Chamber Music Society of Greater Denver. She is thrilled to be joining the Great Falls Symphony in the 2023 – 2024 season as Principal Harp.

Music and art can share a certain complexity and angularity. The Chinook Winds invited talented visual artist Jodi Lightner, whose work is informed by architecture, to collaborate. Music includes Gyorgi Ligeti’s Six Bagatelles for Wind Quintet and Back of the Bus by Shuying Li.
