DeKalb Symphony Orchestra

Established in 1964, the DeKalb Symphony Orchestra (DSO) has been dedicated to providing enjoyable symphonic experiences in a relaxed and affordable setting. The orchestra presents a diverse range of traditional and contemporary symphonic repertoire, aiming for high artistic quality and fostering musical awareness and participation among its musicians and audiences. Membership is by audition, with over 80 players, primarily volunteers from the community, dedicating approximately 200 hours annually to rehearsals and performances. The DSO performs at least six concerts each year, including Subscription Series, Children's Concerts, Free Community Concerts, and special performances. While primarily performing in DeKalb County, the DSO serves as a regional organization. It is a member of the League of American Orchestras and the Atlanta Coalition for the Performing Arts.
