The Wisconsin Conservatory of Music (WCM) is a prominent institution dedicated to the advancement of musical education. With a history that spans over a century, WCM has established itself as the largest independent non-profit music school in Wisconsin. The Conservatory's mission is to inspire students and communities through exceptional music education that is accessible to everyone, regardless of age or skill level. Rooted in the traditions of several Wisconsin music institutions, WCM has grown to employ over 100 highly trained teaching artists. These educators provide individual, group, and ensemble instruction to more than 16,000 students annually. The Conservatory's impact is further underscored by its commitment to accessible education, as evidenced by its provision of tuition assistance and instrument aid to those in need. The main location of the Wisconsin Conservatory of Music is the historic McIntosh Goodrich Mansion, situated on Milwaukee's East Side. This iconic building has been home to the Conservatory since 1932 and serves as a testament to the institution's enduring presence in the community. Additional locations include the Sharon Lynne Wilson Center in Brookfield, which is a multi-arts center nestled in Mitchell Park, and the Audubon Court in Bayside/Foxpoint, which caters to North Shore students with well-equipped facilities. WCM also extends its reach through partnerships with various schools, offering on-campus lessons that cater to different comfort levels for students and their families. These partnerships are part of the Conservatory's broader community engagement efforts, which include concerts, events, and scholarship auditions, all aimed at fostering a vibrant musical culture. The Conservatory's faculty is the cornerstone of its educational offerings. This diverse group of over 100 teaching artists carries forward a legacy of excellence, building on the contributions of the many dedicated musicians who have been associated with WCM over the years. As a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, the Wisconsin Conservatory of Music upholds the values of accountability and transparency. This commitment to ethical leadership and stewardship is reflected in the public availability of its audited financial statements. In addition to its educational programs, WCM offers the community a chance to support its mission through various initiatives, such as the annual instrument drive, gala events, and the option to purchase gift certificates that can be used towards lessons and concerts. With a rich history and a forward-looking approach to music education, the Wisconsin Conservatory of Music continues to play a pivotal role in nurturing the musical talents of individuals and enriching the cultural fabric of Wisconsin.
