Space Coast Symphony Orchestra

The Space Coast Symphony Orchestra (SCSO) is a distinguished musical organization based in Central Florida, known for its commitment to making professional classical music affordable and accessible to audiences of all ages. Founded in 2009 under the visionary leadership of Aaron Collins, the SCSO has become an integral part of the region's cultural landscape, celebrated for its creativity, spirit, beauty, and quest for knowledge. The SCSO stands out for its innovative approach to programming, which has earned it national recognition. The orchestra is dedicated to reinventing the concept of a 21st-century orchestra, offering a diverse repertoire that is balanced, accessible, innovative, and artistically expansive. It holds the distinction of presenting more concerts annually than any other musical organization in Florida, and it has been instrumental in marketing and promoting the Space and Treasure Coasts as cultural destinations. Over the years, the Space Coast Symphony Orchestra has performed over 750 concerts throughout Central Florida. One of its most notable achievements is the "Symphony for Everyone" program, a pioneering initiative that ensures that no one is excluded from experiencing live symphonic music due to financial constraints. This program has been nationally recognized and has enabled over 15,000 economically challenged individuals and families to attend concerts. In addition to its performance schedule, the SCSO is deeply committed to youth education and community engagement. It proudly supports the area's young musicians through four distinct youth education programs: the Mentorship Program, which offers professional mentorship opportunities for students; the Free Student Tickets program, providing free concert admission to all students aged 18 and under; the Youth Orchestra, which brings together over one hundred pre-college age musicians from diverse backgrounds in Brevard and Indian River Counties to rehearse and perform classical symphonic masterworks; and additional educational initiatives.
