== West Valley Symphony of Utah == The West Valley Symphony of Utah is a distinguished community symphonic orchestra that has been serving the Salt Lake Valley with musical performances since its inception in 1991. Founded by Ralph Baker, the orchestra is composed of a dedicated all-volunteer ensemble of approximately 75-80 musicians. These talented individuals come from a diverse range of backgrounds and hail from across the Wasatch Front, spanning from Provo to Ogden. The orchestra's mission is to present high-quality concerts that encompass a wide variety of musical genres, from the classical repertoire to popular pops music. These performances are aimed at enriching the cultural life of West Valley City and its neighboring communities. The West Valley Symphony of Utah has made the Utah Cultural Celebration Center its home venue, where it regularly delights audiences with its musical offerings. One of the highlights of the orchestra's annual schedule is its role as the official orchestra for the Larry H. Miller Christmas Carole Sing-Along. This festive event is a significant part of the local holiday tradition. Additionally, the orchestra has formed a collaborative relationship with the Choral Arts Society of Utah, joining them at the prestigious Abravanel Hall in Salt Lake City for the Days of ’47 Pops Concert. The West Valley Symphony of Utah is also an integral participant in the KUTV/Salvation Army Holiday Pops concert, a charitable event that supports the Angel Tree Program. This concert is part of the orchestra's partnership with the Choral Arts Society of Utah. Moreover, the orchestra is a fixture in the Utah Cultural Celebration Center’s WorldStage concert series and is frequently invited to perform at various events in the surrounding areas, such as Taylorsville Dayzz. The orchestra has also collaborated with notable groups like Imagine: Remembering the Fab Four and ABBACADABRA for local concerts. The organization is overseen by a dedicated Board of Directors and an Artistic & Production Staff. The Board of Directors includes Sterling S. Poulson as Board Chair, Randy Cox as President, and other key members who contribute to the strategic direction and governance of the orchestra. The Artistic & Production Staff is led by Music Director Donny Gilbert, with George Dye serving as Associate Music Director, Susie Bean as Concertmaster, and other essential personnel ensuring the smooth operation of the orchestra's performances. The West Valley Symphony of Utah continues to engage with the community through its upcoming events, which are prominently featured on their website, alongside options for supporters to sign up for their eNewsletter or contribute donations to the orchestra. The West Valley Symphony of Utah stands as a beacon of cultural excellence, bringing the joy of symphonic music to audiences in the Salt Lake Valley and beyond, fostering a love for the arts and community spirit through its performances and outreach initiatives.
