What does it mean to get lost in America? Anne and David are set to find out as they embark on the perfect American road trip. They have a map, an impressive list of sights to see, and an itinerary that should put them in St. Paul just in time for the birth of their first grandchild. But soon their perfect plan is derailed by a troubling diagnosis and the beautiful impermanence of the world around them. As Anne and David veer off of their intended path, they are forced to grapple with the unavoidably messy and breathtaking journey of their lives.

The Gay Freedom Band of Los Angeles, established in 1978, holds a significant place in LGBTQ+ history as the second oldest gay community music organizations. Among its ensembles, the Jazz Band stands out for its vibrant contributions to both the LGBTQ+ and music communities. Formed to provide a safe and inclusive space for LGBTQ+ musicians, the band’s Jazz ensemble has evolved over the years, showcasing the talents of its members and breaking down barriers through music. Over the course of the party, the friends play games, reflect on the current American socio-political landscape, and discover truths about the story of Mina’s parents falling in love and staying in love while fleeing the Iranian Revolution. A Going Away Party Play is a celebration of multicultural identities and an exploration of what it means to leave or lose your home country.

Remembering takes audiences on a captivating journey as Aristides and Meena reconnect with the folk and pop songs that held a special place in their heart during their youth in their native Venezuela and Japan. The performance transitions seamlessly from these nostalgic tunes to classical music repertoire as Aristides and Meena invite the audience to explore the power of music and storytelling by sharing their own journey of immigration, parenthood, and reconnecting with their identities.

Accompanied by her accordion, toy piano, and fiery band, singer/songwriter Jessica Fichot draws from her French, Chinese, and American heritage to create an intoxicating program of French chanson, 1940s Shanghai jazz, gypsy swing and international folk. With 3 acclaimed albums under her belt, Jessica has charmed audiences around the world – performing her lively songs at concert halls, festivals and clubs in China, Mexico, Canada and across the US and Western Europe. Featuring scorching performances from her bandmates on clarinet/sax, upright bass and guitar, as well as her own beautiful, clear vocals in French, Mandarin Chinese, Spanish and English, Fichot’s music is truly a dazzling trans-world journey.

Weaving autobiographical monologue with Tchaikovsky, Gershwin, Chopin, Bach and more,  Polonaise Fantaisie: The Story of a Pianist tells Ukrainian-American pianist Inna Faliks’s story of growing up in Odessa during the Soviet Union, emigrating to America with her parents, and reconnecting with a childhood friend from Odessa who ultimately became the love of her life.
