Founded in 1969 by a group of Waltham High School students and alumni, Reagle Music Theatre of Greater Boston has evolved into a prestigious organization that blends talented regional and professional performers and technicians to deliver high-quality musical theatre productions. Initially created to utilize an empty school theater, under the leadership of Robert J. Eagle, its first production, Rodgers and Hammerstein's Carousel, received great acclaim. Officially renamed in 2010, Reagle has maintained a unique connection with Waltham High School, contributing significantly to its Fine Arts Wing and establishing a close relationship with the public school system unparalleled by the National Endowment for the Arts. Reagle Music Theatre is renowned for its commitment to excellence, featuring Broadway choreography, large orchestras, and costumes and sets from Broadway and touring productions. Since employing its first professional actor in 1984, it has hosted numerous world-class artists and won several awards, including six Independent Reviewers of New England (IRNE) Awards for Best Musical. Besides summer musicals, Reagle offers musical revues, a concert series with notable performers, and educational programs aimed at nurturing future theatre practitioners. Through its diverse offerings, Reagle Music Theatre continues to enrich the cultural landscape of Greater Boston and foster the next generation of theatre talent.
