Connecticut Virtuosi

New Britain, CT, United States

The Connecticut Virtuosi Chamber Orchestra, established to preserve and perpetuate orchestral traditions, engages in a vibrant array of activities beyond its concert series, including educational outreach and collaborations with various arts organizations. Annually, the orchestra presents several concerts, including eight educational performances in New Britain schools, and engages in partnerships with entities such as the New Britain Chorale, Central Connecticut State University, the Middletown Concert Association, and the Chopin Foundation in New York. Performing 25 to 30 times a year, the Virtuosi appears in major performing arts centers across Connecticut and New York. It also co-produces fully staged opera productions with the Connecticut Lyric Opera and participates in a community music school project with Tunxis College in Farmington. The Virtuosi's commitment to music education is further evidenced by its collaboration with the First Presbyterian Church in Hartford to offer a Free and Reduced-Cost Music Education Program for students in the Greater Hartford area, demonstrating its dedication to accessibility and community engagement in the arts.
