The ECU School of Music, nestled within the College of Fine Arts and Communication, stands as a distinguished institution in the Southeast, renowned for its comprehensive music programs. It boasts a unique online Master of Music in Music Education degree, highly praised by the National Association of Schools of Music. The school caters to a vibrant community of approximately 250 undergraduate and 70 graduate students, all of whom immerse themselves in the rich musical environment of the A.J. Fletcher Music Center. This dedicated facility houses extensive resources including two large rehearsal halls, a 220-seat recital hall, electronic piano labs, five organs, over fifty practice rooms, faculty studios, and a well-stocked Music Library with around 90,000 items. Additionally, the Center for Music Technology offers cutting-edge resources including the Music MIDI Lab and the KORG Learning Center. The school is celebrated for hosting some of the finest performances in the state, facilitated by its excellent venues such as the A.J. Fletcher Recital Hall and the Wright Auditorium. Accredited by the National Association of Schools of Music (NASM) and the American Music Therapy Association (AMTA), the ECU School of Music is a hub of musical excellence and innovation, fostering a sense of community and belonging among its students, faculty, and staff.
