Conejo Players Theatre

Conejo Players Theatre, established in 1958 in Thousand Oaks, California, has grown from a small group of theatre enthusiasts performing in a barn to a prominent community theatre. Originally fueled by the collective spirit of "Let's start a theatre," the group quickly evolved, building a 126-seat theatre in 1964 on S. Moorpark Road with the support of the Janss Foundation and a no-interest construction loan. By 1974, the mortgage was paid off, and the theatre expanded its capacity to 185 seats after a series of renovations that included a new lobby, restrooms, and theatre seats. Further expansions in 1989 and continuous improvements over the years, such as the addition of an orchestra pit in 2005 and modern technical upgrades in 2017, have established Conejo Players Theatre as a key cultural institution offering a diverse range of productions. Celebrating its 60th anniversary in 2018, the theatre continues to commit to providing professional-level live entertainment and fostering a welcoming environment for volunteers and participants in the Conejo Valley and beyond. Conejo Players Theatre also emphasizes inclusivity and respect through its Anti-Discrimination Policy, ensuring a community space free of discrimination and harassment.
